TIER 2*

Currently, the governments of developing countries recognize the importance of small and medium enterprises, SME's, to the national economy not only for his contributions to the production and distribution of goods and services but also the flexibility to adapt to changes technology and great potential for employment generation. Are an excellent way to boost economic development and better distribution of wealth.

However, in a mature industry such as automotive and where global competition is very strong, local companies need to join efforts and share ideas, practices, experiences and methodologies to find more competitive and attractive in an environment glocalized ( global and local).

Given the challenges facing the tier 2, the committee created CLAUT tier 2, with the aim to strengthen existing businesses in the region, through collaboration and synergy among them, and organizing efforts to align with the tier 1 supply chain of automotive industry in the region so we have a local supply, capable and competitive, so that our state is considered an excellent alternative to attract foreign investment.

The TIER 2 committee is composed by general business managers and representatives of the partner universities.

Our areas of work (sub-comittees) are:

d) Human Development

* Tier 2 named for being the second level in the supply chain

Current Projects:

• Visits to automotive tier 1 in the region with the aim of finding business opportunities.
• Development of a catalog tier 2 which includes the technical specifications in English and Spanish CLAUT associated companies.
• Dissemination between tier 2 of the economic support offered by various institutions and government organizations.
• know the best practices in quality systems and continuous improvement, energy conservation and human development of tier 1.
• Share best practices in quality and human development among the tier 2.
• Promoting a culture of saving and efficient use of energy:
• Preparation and monitoring energy plan 2010
• Analysis of electricity rates and demand for billable
• Replacing fixtures
• Monitoring systems and
• Establishment of energy policy, among other activities

Future projects:

• Attend to trade shows and business visits to national and international companies.
• Elaborate plans in quality systems and continuous improvement.
• Implement programs to streamline processes and reduce operating costs.
• Implementi quality circles in each tier 2 and make a CLAUT Inter-Congress on this issue.
• Planning the day energy / environment (June 5 International Day of Environment).
• Design and carry out training in conjunction with issues of common interest (eg middle managers / supervisors).
• Integrate a larger number of tier 2 companies.
• Involving companies in innovation projects.
